Guided Imagery & Acupressure
Guided Imagery is an aspect of hypnosis treatment. Its used to assist the client to utilize the mind as a tool for motivation in achieving a goal. Unlike hypnosis, guided imagery keeps the client in the drivers seat and allows them to use this tool no matter where they are. The guided imagery practitioner acts as a consult in teaching the skill of mind techniques and the association of the mind and body through acupressure.
What are the benefits of Guided Imagery and Acupressure
There are many benefits of using GIA (Guided Imagery & Acupressure) and can be used no matter where you are. Our body is a storehouse of information and is constantly sending a feedback loop to the mind. Within our mentally busy day the mind is not associating with the messages being sent by the body. Guided Imagery and Acupressure assist in slowing down the mind and connecting with what information is being communicated from the body. Body language is part of connecting with the mind/body relationship for reducing stress and inflammation, opening our senses for greater enjoyment, managing homeostasis for a balanced function of our metabolic systems, and increasing our ability to heal from trauma and anxiety. Acupressure along with guided imagery increases the connection between the body and the mind. Meridian lines used in acupressure strengthen neural response between the mind and the body and can be triggered on a daily basis for maximum results.
Much like hypnosis, GIA can be used to transform a behavior to one that will increase our wellness in daily living. Emotional behaviors play a large role in our ability to maintain healthy relations at home, work, school, and in social surroundings. An example of emotional transformation is to understand that fear is a natural emotional response to our surroundings. The key to responding to fear is to transform our understanding of it. Fear is actually our concern for our safety or the safety of others. This is a healthy response. By using GIA one is able to maintain a harmonious response by recognizing what is needed to act on managing the safety issues. Often, safety concerns are triggered by childhood feedback loops or by what is happening in our immediate environment. Other natural emotions we experience are anger, jealousy, and pity. Flower Essence Therapy is used with treating emotional behaviors and transformation.
